They have become well-versed about Covid-19 through working on the front lines as emergency medicine and infectious disease experts treating Covid-19 patients and leading mitigation efforts at outbreak facilities. Our team consists of doctors, nurses, paramedics, infection control professionals, and hospital leadership with extensive experience.
It was originally conceived as an effort to expand limited COVID-19 testing availability, and also to provide infection prevention services to nursing homes, in hopes of protecting our most vulnerable citizens. At its founding, the company leadership made a conscious decision to compensate our frontline employees generously for work that was grueling and - especially early on, during widespread government-advised business shutdowns and social distancing - even frightening. As a provider of COVID-19 testing, and also of infection prevention consultations to nursing homes, we earned a solid reputation in local public health circles, and Massachusetts and Rhode Island departments of health came to know us as a reliable and trustworthy partner.
Purple Shield has been evolving to meet the needs of our customers and the communities we serve with the goal of developing our own !Purple Shield Standard! of care, patient safety, and infection prevention. This standard of excellence will be based on reputable data and evidence-based best practices that will always meet or exceed government regulatory standards. As we continue to build community relationships, we have opened our home care division where we provide skilled nursing care to homebound Rhode Island residents. Our home care services will be provided by nurses, CNAs, Mental Health Clinicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, and will be expanded to include Physical and Occupational Therapy.
