Description:

The weR1 Rhode Island Fund provides direct cash assistance to Rhode Islanders who are unable to benefit from most public programs due to their immigration status. Rhode Islanders with urgent need due to sickness, job loss or reduction in work hours due to COVID-19 and who are excluded from federal programs.

The program and fund distribution will be managed by Dorcas International Institute of RI (DIIRI). $400 no-fee auto-loaded no-fee debit cards will be provided to those in need.

To donate to the fund, visit www.give-weR1.diiri.org or text weR1 to 27126. Rhode Island Foundation is accepting large contributions to the fund at www.rifoundation.org or by calling 401-274-4564.

Launch partners include Governor Raimondo, the Rhode Island Foundation, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, Accelerator for America, United Way of RI, and local mayors. weR1 is funded through private donations and the state is an in-kind partner.
