An independent, not for profit organization designed to allow children living in a disadvantaged area to get away from inner city streets and enjoy a summer vacation at volunteer guest homes or at the five Fund homes in upstate New York.
Friendly Towns Program: A volunteer program to host a child for one to two weeks in the summer. To become a host family, there is a phone screening and application process, home visit and house inspection, interview the household, contact three references, and background checks.
