Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island is an 82 bed, fully accredited hospital offering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for individuals who have suffered impairments due to disease or trauma. With specialty areas in orthopedics, neurology, pulmonary rehabilitation, and arthritis the medically-directed team offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, hearing and language therapy, aquatics therapy, outpatient pediatric rehabilitation, worker's rehabilitation, social services, continuing care, therapeutic recreation therapy, rehabilitation nursing and other services to residents of Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Inpatient Services: Neurorehabilitation helps patients with traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, stroke and other neurological disorders; Stroke Recovery helps patients regain or improve lost or damaged brain functions and deal with a wide range of issues so that they may return to the activities of daily living with as much independence as possible; Brain Injury Rehabilitatio helps maximize the patient's level of functioning so that the patient can return to family life and/or the workplace with as much independence as possible; Spinal Cord Rehabilitation helps patients build physical health and adapt to life after a spinal cord injury, provides social support to help patients deal with the psychological effects of trauma; Amputee Rehabilitation helps patients choose the most appropriate course of treatment, prosthetic device and therapy option to gain maximum mobility and function;Pulmonary Rehabilitation helps patients with chronic pulmonary disease, respiratory dysfunction following a spinal cord injury, hypoventilation syndromes or neuromuscular disease maximize their level of independence. Specializes in assisting patients with ventilator weaning; Orthopedic Rehabilitation helps patients with fractures and multiple traumas maximize their strength and mobility and decrease their pain or discomfort.

Eligibility is based on the Hospitalâs Financial Assistance Policy, which includes using the Federal Poverty Level guidelines, number of dependents, and gross annual income along with supportive income documents.

Occupational Health provided through Landmark Medical Center at the Rehabilitation Hospital or RI offers prevention and treatment of injuries to help employees return to work. Services include: Management of the Injured Worker - with special attention to the specific injury as it relates to work environment; Acute Injury and Follow-Up Care. Medical Examinations: Post-Offer (to identify suitable employees for your workplace); Medical Surveillance (for lead, asbestos, etc.); Periodic Medical Examinations; Fitness for Duty Examinations; Second-Opinion Examinations.
