Description

Little School is about collaboration, community, and creativity for children ages six weeks through three years old. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, our project-based curriculum builds on children’s individual interests and skills. Little School offers a nurturing environment where children explore at their own pace and developmental level, using open-ended materials. As they grow, learn and build relationships with staff and the children around them, they develop a sense of competence and trust in the world. Infants and Yearlings (6 weeks- 18 months) Young Toddlers (starting around 18 months) Older Toddlers and Young Threes: (24 months and up)

Description

The early childhood program consists of two coed classrooms the Oak room for three and four year olds, and the Ginkgo room for four and five year olds. The approach is influenced by the internationally renowned Reggio Emilia concept of early childhood teaching and learning. Through an evolving, emergent curriculum shaped by each child’s cognitive social and physical development, children come to view school as a place of exploration and discovery.
