Services: Offers dental cleanings from September to May (school year), $20. Cleanings include blood pressure monitoring, oral cancer screening, periodontal examination, polishing, fluoride treatment and information on dental health.

Cleaning and exam- (Free) The student will perform a thorough examination and cleaning of the teeth. This includes examining the hard and soft tissue of the head and neck; recording tissue and tooth structures; charting restorations, crowns and bridges; assessing the soft debris and plaque in the mouth; and removing calcified deposits on the teeth.

Periodontal Exam- (Included) Evaluation of the gums and bone around the teeth and identify conditions that compromise periodontal health and function.

Other Preventive Services: (Included) Fluoride treatment, Nutritional counseling, Health history screening, Oral cancer screening, Blood pressure screening, Appliance (denture/partial) cleaning

Educational Services- (Included) Explanation and demonstration of individualized oral hygiene techniques.

Sealants- ($20) All patients must have cleaning and exam in the dental hygiene clinic prior to sealant placement. The student will place protective plastic coating on the chewing surfaces of eligible teeth to prevent cavities.

Radiographs (X-Rays)- ($20) The student will take bitewing and/or full mouth radiographs to examine the teeth and surrounding structures. A duplicate set of x-rays will be forwarded to your dentist for diagnosis.

Panoramic Radiographs- ($20) The student will take one radiograph of all the teeth and surrounding structures in both jaws. A duplicate will be forwarded to your dentist for diagnosis.

You may apply online for degree and non-degree programs for spring, summer, and fall semesters. Upon completion of the free online admissions application, you will receive your electronic acceptance message and a formal acceptance letter will be mailed to you.

    Description

    The Dental Hygiene Clinic can help prevent oral disease and maintain optimal oral health. www.ccri.edu/clinic Cleanings include blood pressure monitoring, oral cancer screening, periodontal examination, polishing, fluoride treatment and information on dental health. The appointment length is two hours. All persons given appointments will be screened for potential physician consultation and made aware of the approximate time required to complete treatments, as well as the fee for the treatments provided. Children are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and are not to be left unattended in the reception area. Parent/guardian must remain in the reception area throughout treatment. Infants are not allowed into the clinic.
