The Tower Street School Community Center is a set of partnerships between Westerly Public School and other community resources. The Center provides comprehensive programs and activities that promote academic growth, physical health, recreation, vocational training, social and emotional well-being.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

    Description

    Registered Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site: Staff of Volunteer tax preparers are IRS trained, tested, and certified to help people who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit program receive the tax credits they deserve. THIS IS A FREE SERVICE. You must bring a copy of your previous year's return, all financial statements pertaining to tax year 2019, your social security card, and a picture ID.

    Valid Proof of identification Original Social Security Card(s) for self, spouse and all dependents All 2019 W-2 & 1099 forms Copy of 2018 Federal Tax Return if possible Child and Dependent Care Expense For direct deposit bring a check or savings account number with routing number

    Eligibility

    Earned $56,000 or less in 2019 To qualify for Property Tax Relief Credit (please note it is total household size and total household income): An individual must be (all of the qualifiers below) - Elderly or disabled - Receive Social Security Benefits - Lived in RI all of 2019 - Lived in an apartment or home subject to property tax. The person can receive up to $365.
