Day One is the only agency in Rhode Island that is specifically organized to deal with issues of sexual assault as a community concern. They provide treatment, intervention, education, advocacy, and prevention services to Rhode Islanders of all ages!€”from preschool children to elder adults. Additionally, we advocate for public policy initiatives and systemic changes that positively impact how Rhode Island families handle sexual abuse cases.

Services: Counseling fees are on a sliding scale and are covered by some insurance plans; fees for education and training programs. No fee for advocacy, crisis intervention or Children's Advocacy Center.

Under this model, the child comes to a child-friendly environment and meets with a trained interviewer while the other team members observe from another room via a video screen. The child is informed of the equipment and of the observing team, and is never forced to answer any questions.
