Through education and training, the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island seeks to institutionalize and internationalize nonviolence as a process that promotes the establishment of a global beloved community.
Our Center was founded in 1998 to develop nonviolence leadership to engage in teaching, research, and service related to peaceful problem solving and conflict reconciliation. We are proud to offer trainings in Kingian Nonviolence - the nonviolent principles and strategic steps for creating nonviolent social change developed from the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
