Steps in the proposal development process include clearly defining the project, its goals, objectives and outcomes; identifying likely funding sources; contacting funders for proposal guidelines and submission deadlines; developing the proposal including a statement of need, a description of the method and process for accomplishing goals and objectives, the method of evaluation, project timelines, organizational and/or staff credentials, a project budget, supporting materials and authorized signatures; submitting the proposal; and following up with the funding source to determine the status, evaluation and outcome of the proposal.
