Subdivision Assumption

Programs that are responsible for inspecting the required infrastructure improvements that have been completed by a developer within a subdivision (e.g., roads and sewer and water connections), certifying their compliance with the jurisdiction’s subdivision regulations and accepting responsibility for their ongoing maintenance on behalf of the municipality. Subdivision assumption may occur five or six years after a subdivision has been completed and people have moved in.
