Programs that evaluate requests for minor divisions of land for the purpose of development or sale, and which approve or deny requests based on local ordinances and the best interests of the community. Lot splits involve the division of small parcels that have already been platted which do not involve the opening, widening or extension of any street or road or easement of access or involvement of more than a specified number of lots (usually four or five) including the remainder of the original tract.
