Power Boat Racing

Racing events which feature different styles, sizes and types of boats including offshore power boats, inflatables, tunnel boats, runabouts and unlimited hydroplanes. The races are sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association (APBA), the U.S. national authority; and structured according to divisions, which include drag, inboard, inboard endurance, modified outboard, offshore, outboard performance craft, professional racing outboard, stock outboard, unlimited, R/C model, performance inflatable and special events. There are different classes within each division. Some of the associations also sanction racing events featuring personal watercraft. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize power boat racing events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
