Description:
Mae Organization was founded in 2008, by Martinha Javid and has been operating with a board of volunteers, to combat mental illness in the homeless population through innovative holistic methods.
Due to the poverty levels and the overwhelming demand for other services in the community, MAE answered the need by expanding their programs and services. They now provide hot meals, clothing, and toiletries at strategic cities in the State of Rhode Island, they transition clients from the streets to housing and then help with job placement, they work with business to accept and train at-risk individuals, they coordinate detox needs, and much more.
They are funded by the generosity of individual, corporate donations, and grants, along with the sale of their themed products. Their goal is to raise $210,000 over the next three years. In addition to fundraising to run the programs, MAE continues efforts to fundraise and apply for grants to raise funds to pay for the lease and utilities of Mae!s wellness center to continue providing their services to all in need.

Description
Maeâs housing program was established to empower the homeless population to escape the cycle of poverty. Their program has helped hundreds of families get established into a new home by giving them items including bed, kitchen tables, etc. Maeâs housing program helps families in need of establishing long-term residency by not only providing furniture, but also assisting with first monthâs rent and deposit. We also house the homeless at motels during emergency situations and when shelter space is not available.

FOOD/HOT MEALS In their fight against hunger and food insecurity, they provide thousands of meals annually through a great team of volunteers in four primary communities: Woonsocket, Pawtucket, Providence, and West Warwick. They serve healthy fresh meals to those in need. They go beyond handing out care packages by serving hot meals to the homeless. At their weekly food services, their volunteers provide a valuable human interaction and guidance to available programs to those in need.
