If a patient travel distance is 1000 miles or less, the services of a volunteer pilot organization flying for public benefit will be the referral. These organizations provide no-cost private or corporate aircraft travel for the patient and accompanying family member(s). Often a patient is flown to treatment location one day and then brought back home the next day to a week or two later.

Urgent flights are reserved for persons who need to visit critically ill or injured family members, for patients needing organ transplants, or for organ donations.
Required Documents
Each passenger must complete a liability release form prior to each flight.
Eligibility
Angel Flight is available to patients and families of patients whose financial resources do not permit them to travel by other means to get needed diagnosis or treatment. Angel Flight will also accept requests from patients and families who are unable to use public transportation because of their medical condition, who need to fly immediately, or who live in remote areas where public transportation is not available. Patients must be medically stable and ambulatory. Flights will be provided as often and for as long as necessary.
