The mission of the Center for Southeast Asians (CSEA) is to promote the prosperity, heritage and leadership of Southeast Asians in Rhode Island
They assist new Americans in the areas of social and economic independence and creating greater access to education and healthcare services. They can provide: translator services; free tax preparation; interpreting services, job training, English/ESL classes, health insurance navigation; tobacco and substance abuse information; and more.
SEDC's social service programs include: Affordable Care Act (ACA), Meal Café, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program); Southeast Asian Elder Advancement Program; assistance with transitional housing management; and case management.
Social Services in Providence include: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance; Victim's Assistance Program; Affordable Care Act; and Meals on Wheels and SNAP referrals.
Their International Language Bank provides fee-for-service, 24/7 translation and interpretation in over 40 languages.

Description
CSEA is a Navigator site to help consumers enroll in an affordable health plan. Helps individuals and families navigate through HealthSource RI, which is Rhode Islandâs health plan market place. Once CSEA helps the client create an account and sign up for an affordable health plan, they will work to make sure that your family receives updates regarding any changes to your plan, update any changes in your household, and personally contact you and work with you individually.

Description
Services: Assists new Americans in the areas of social and economic independence and creating greater access to education and healthcare services. SEDC's social service programs include Project Early Start for families with children, 0-3 years old; Elderly Services for seniors, Minority Health Youth and Family Services which include middle school students and their parents. ESL/Citizenship classes available; also tobacco, substance abuse, gang and pregnancy programs. Homeownership Education & Financial Empowerment The foreclosure prevention and homeowner fitness program assists individuals and families who need help facing financial hardships and the possibility of foreclosure. The program works in partnership with Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General and a coalition of community partners. CSEA provides bilingual and bicultural financial fitness education through one-on-one counseling and educational workshops. CSEA helps clients build relationships with financial institutions, develop long term financial plans to avoid foreclosure, assist clients with mortgage assistance applications, and raise awareness about scams and fraud. CSEA provides assistance in the application process for clients who seek refinancing and homeownership options. CSEA provides workshops in retirement savings, budgeting, and home ownership education. Description
CSEA offers beginner, intermediate and advanced ESL Classes to help learners of all backgrounds become proficient in the English language. Initially, students are assessed to gauge their English communication and comprehension skills. Students are then placed in the appropriate level ESL class. Our classes run in trimesters, (4) times a week during the evening hours. ESL classes are offered year round.

Description
International Language Bank The International Language Bank (ILB) is a fee-for-service program that provides in-person interpretation, document translations, over-the-phone interpreting, and 24-hour emergency services by qualified experts. These services are offered to all members in our community who need assistance bridging the language barriers between providers/clients. We are currently offering over 30 different languages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ILB is the sole proprietor of CSEA. Proceeds from the ILB goes to support CSEAâs other community-based programs.

Description
Registered Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site: Staff of Volunteer tax preparers are IRS trained, tested, and certified to help people who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit program receive the tax credits they deserve. THIS IS A FREE SERVICE. You must bring a copy of your previous year's return, all financial statements pertaining to tax year 2020, your social security card, and a picture ID.
