Also offers an Outreach Program. The mission of Rhode Island College Outreach Programs is to educate and train individuals who face language and socioeconomic barriers, and those who lack strong educational foundations. Programs include training for Medical Assisting, Bookkeeping and Accounting Clerks, Social and Human Service Assistant, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) and ESOL remedial services.

Intermediate and advanced level English language classes designed to help improve communication skills in preparation for job training and/or going directly into the workforce. Staff will create an individual learning plan that best suits your educational needs and career goals. Additional soft skills classes and workshops are included, based on the individual learning plan.

Description
The Medical Assistant certificate program prepares students for a career as a medical assistant. Skills sets gained are medical assisting, clinical skills, clerical and administrative procedures including reception and scheduling, medical terminology, electronic charting, clinical testing, basic pharmacology, HIPAA training, and CPR certification.
