Food Pantry: Federal Hill House helps individuals and families stretch their limited resources to help put healthy food on the table. They operated two food pantries: Federal Hill Food Center at 35 Swiss Street in Providence (open Tuesday through Friday, 9 am - 1 pm) and Olneyville Food Center at 261 Manton Ave in Providence (open Tuesday through Friday, 9 am - 2 pm).
School Age Child Care: The School Age Program, located in 35 Swiss Street in Providence, serves children from Kindergarten through 12 years old. Hours are Monday - Friday to 6 p.m. They provide enrichment activities, homework assistance, arts and crafts and outdoor play. Transportation is provided to Asa Messer, William D'Abate and George J. West Elementary as well as West Broadway and Nathanael Greene Middle School. Walk-ins and school buses may also drop youth off. The program also offers full day school vacation programs and a Summer Camp program for children that includes field trips, educational projects, and outdoor fun with their friends. Their programs take DHS childcare subsidy, CCAP for providers and payments from agencies such as DCYF. Their Early Learning Center works with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. They have 4 classrooms: Infant (6 weeks to 18 months), Toddler (18 months to 3 years); Pre-School (3 -5 years) and 3 playgrounds. FHH accepts private pay and DHS subsidies. Meals and snacks are provided to children. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 7 am - 5 pm.
Providence Talks is a parent education program that develops parents' and caregivers' capacity to lay the foundation for early language and literacy skills by playing with, talking with, and reading to their children. Parent educators facilitate weekly playgrounds across Providence that introduce, model and practice strategies that help increase parent-child interaction. They provide free books each week. Playgroups meet at Federal Hill House and at multiple community libraries and other community settings. For information go to www.providencetalks.org.

Weekday senior lunch program, Monday through Friday; a Foster Grandparent Program
Foster Grandparent Program - provides opportunities for adults ages 55 and above to volunteer directly with young children at local community centers, day cares, schools and other designated sites across Providence. Income-eligible participants receive a stipend for their time and regular come together for meals, professional development, information sharing and resources.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program connects older adults (ages 55+) with various service opportunities across the metro Providence area. Volunteer opportunities include income tax preparation for ow income community members, serving meals at our daily meal site, serving food pantry clients in Federal Hill and Olneyville, facilitating health and wellness activities for older adults, and working with school age children before or after school. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program - Federal Hill House leads the Providence VITA/EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) Coalition, a citywide partnership of eight sites providing free tax preparation services for individuals and families making generally less than $64,000 per year (adjusted annually so check on newest number), the elderly, persons with disabilities, and limited-English speakers. VITA ensures accurate and maximized tax returns that are e-filed for faster refunds. VITA operates during tax season, and will be available until April 15th.
