The mission of the Aging Well Inc. is to improve quality of life and to maintain individuals in their preferred home environment in the community through nutrition programs, Health & Wellness Education, Adult Day Program, and Information and Referral.
Aging Well Inc. has provided services to seniors and adults with disabilities residing in Northern Rhode Island since 1975. In accordance with the Congregate Meal Program financed through a grant with R.I. Office of Healthy Aging, Senior Services, Inc. provides nutritionally balanced lunches five days a week at meal sites throughout northern R.I.
Aging Well Inc. offers Senior Wellness Programs and Activities. Education includes Lunch & Learns, Monthly URI Pharmacy and URI Nutrition, Fall Prevention, Brain Games and Department of Health evidence-based programming. Monitoring and Screening is done for blood pressure, nurse consultation, podiatry clinic, immunization clinic and balance assessment. Intergenerational events are held with Harris School Students, a Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Flag Day, Veterans Dinner, RIC Nursing Students & Beacon Charter School. Barret Fitness classes use a stationary handrail as a support during exercise. Zumba combines Latin dance music with cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. Other classes include line dancing, tap dancing, Chair yoga, Keep It Moving, ballroom dancing, and mindfulness and meditation. Social Activities include Bingo, cribbage, billiards, corn hole, painting, and quilting.
Aging Well Inc. also offers an Adult Day Program ("A Home for the Day"), and a Community Information Specialist who can provide information on eligibility for all state and local programs.

Description
A program of BVCAP: RSVP provides opportunities for seniors 55+ to share their time, experience, knowledge and interests with others in the community. RSVP volunteers are connected to networks of seniors who use their skills to provide services and support throughout the community. RSVP volunteers: - Provide administrative support, nutrition education, SNAP resources, and community referrals for hunger - Deliver meals to home bound clients 5 days a week - Provide home visits and companionship to homebound clients - Participate with the Wellness Initiatives exercise trainings such as armchair aerobics, water aerobics, line dancing, and tap dancing at Senior Services in Woonsocket - Assist in ongoing recruitment, enrollment, and program management of A Matter of Balance (an Evidence Based Fall Prevention Program) - Collect, sort, recycle, reuse, or repurpose recyclable materials in Woonsocket RI and surrounding areas - Provide education, outreach, and information on disaster preparedness - Participate in recognizing and assisting veterans and their families with clothing, heating assistance, weatherization benefits, nutritional information, SNAP, and other community and government resources - Partner with persons of disabilities from one on one or small group activities in the catchment area
