Description
The Childrenâs Friend Child Care Program is designed to provide quality care and education to children ages three, four, and five. (Child Care at Dexter Street is available for children six weeks to five years of age.) Our goals are to foster a positive self-concept, develop social skills, promote language and physical development, encourage creative expression, and foster an awareness and respect of diverse cultures and values. Experienced and degreed teachers lead each classroom. Bilingual staff are always available to help support the centerâs children and families. A registered nurse is available to provide support and answer parentsâ health questions. Eligible families may use DHS child care vouchers. A nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided, which have been approved by the Department of Educationâs Child and Adult Care Food Program.* The hours of operation for the Child Care Centers are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Description
Head Start and Early Head Start Child Care Partnership is an extension of Childrenâs Friendâs core Head Start and Early Head Start Services. Children accessing these services receive full-day, full-year child development/child care at high-quality licensed child care centers throughout Rhode Island. The target audience is working families who also meet the Head Start/Early Head Start eligibility guidelines. Through a partnership of Childrenâs Friend staff and child care partners staff, families access comprehensive Head Start services, such as health, nutrition, and family development. The shared goals of Childrenâs Friend and the child care partners is that all children enter school ready for success through the provision of unified, high quality, comprehensive, and continuous care, and education and supports.
